Booking Accommodation for Large Teams (20+ Workers): A Practical Guide
When you need accommodation for 20, 30, or even 50+ workers, the logistics become significantly more complex.
Start the search early. For large teams, you need 4-6 weeks lead time minimum. Multiple properties in the same area need to be sourced, inspected, and prepared simultaneously.
Accept that you'll need multiple properties. A team of 24 typically requires 4-5 houses (5-6 beds each). This actually works better for team dynamics — smaller groups develop stronger bonds.
Cluster properties together. Ideally, all your accommodation should be within a 5-10 minute drive of each other and within 15-20 minutes of site.
Appoint a house lead in each property. Someone responsible for basic coordination — reporting maintenance issues, managing shared supplies, and being the point of contact.
Negotiate volume rates. When booking 20+ beds, you have significant leverage. Most providers offer 10-15% discounts for volume bookings.
Budget accurately: a team of 24 at £26 per person per night, 4 nights per week, for 16 weeks costs approximately £39,936 — compared to £92,000+ in hotels.
