Summer 2026: Why Contractor Accommodation Demand Is Peaking

14 June 20264 min read

Every year, accommodation demand peaks between May and September as the construction industry takes advantage of longer daylight hours and better weather. Summer 2026 is particularly intense.

HS2 is in full construction mode across multiple sites simultaneously. The Curzon Street terminus, Old Oak Common, and numerous tunnel sections are all at peak activity.

The government's infrastructure pipeline is delivering. Road schemes, hospital builds, school expansions, and defence projects planned 2-3 years ago are now on site.

Renewable energy construction is accelerating. Offshore wind farm support operations, onshore solar farms, and grid upgrades are all ramping up to meet 2030 targets.

What this means for you: book earlier than you normally would. Properties that were available at 2 weeks' notice last winter now need 4-6 weeks' lead time.

Our advice: if you have projects starting between now and September, get in touch today. We can hold provisional bookings while you confirm programme dates.
